Check out this little "Pole Pole" hut. It's in the garden of our house. Relax here, read a book or whatever. Take your time.

Go slowly in Kenya!

“Pole Pole” in Swahili means slow, literally double slow. That is how we describe our Kenya village life. Living in Kenya 3months every year, spending the other 9 months, hard working in the Netherlands, we love our “pole pole” village life in ‘Kegonge’ in Embu district, at the foot of the Mount Kenya. That is where the real African life shows us how different, exciting and energizing life can be if you choose to see, experience and live it “pole pole”.

We, a Kenyan-Dutch couple, love to share this experience by offering home staying lodging to you and an opportunity to gain new insights and a little extra to our friends in the village.

Let’s go “Pole Pole”

Many people from Europe come to see the 'real life' in Africa, in a luxurious safari van, 5 star camping tents, cooled wine and European food and still running from one park to the next. A wonderful treat in a beautiful country like Kenya.

But if you want it different, to experience the real life, understanding what African socialism means, hearing the stories around the fire from the old man, cooking the traditional food with your African mother in the smoky outside kitchen, going to bed because its getting dark and waking up by the Sounds of birds and sunlight, no cars or planes, laughing children running to school?

Well..?
